Huge crowds for Cleveland Cavaliers victory parade

Cleveland (AFP) - Jubilant fans packed downtown Cleveland on Wednesday as the city prepared to give a hero's welcome to NBA superstar LeBron James and his Cavaliers teammates for bringing home the first major sports title in more than 50 years.

Officials expect hundreds of thousands of revelers to come cheer their team after it pulled off the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history to dethrone the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

"The strength and determination displayed throughout the season, post-season, and championship game are truly the embodiment of our city and its people," Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson said in a statement.
