Los Angeles (AFP) - Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving said it was bedbugs, not a flu bug, that caused him to miss most of a weekend game in Oklahoma City, prompting an apology Tuesday from the team's hotel.

Irving played just nine minutes in Sunday's win over the Thunder, with the team saying he was sidelined by "flu-like symptoms."

But after Monday's home loss to Detroit, Irving said he was actually sleep-deprived and sore after waking to find himself in a bedbug-infested room.
