The Memphis Grizzlies have partnered with the National Civil Rights Museum to wear a special “MLK50” Pride uniform for the upcoming season, the team announced.
The new jerseys will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. The team will wear the uniforms as they play against the Chicago Bulls on January 15.
“We’re deeply honored to work with our longstanding partners at the National Civil Rights Museum to help them launch the commemorations building towards the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination,” Grizzlies president of business operations Jason Wexler said in a statement.
