D’Angelo Russell looks like the key to the Lakers’ future.
The 2014-2015 NBA season was not kind to the Los Angeles Lakers. The franchise that has won five championships since the turn of the millennium, endured its worst season in franchise history at 21-61. The leader of the franchise for the last two decades, Kobe Bryant, played only 35 games before losing the rest of the year to injuries. Lottery pick, and supposed savior, Julius Randle broke his leg and was out for the rest of the season minutes into his first game. Perhaps the only good that came out of the season was that the Lakers received the second pick in the 2015 NBA draft.
