Australian forward Andrew Bogut, who was already wearing a mask to protect a broken nose, suffered a concussion in Golden State's NBA season opener.

Doctors on Wednesday diagnosed the 30-year-old from Melbourne with a concussion after he bumped heads with New Orleans Pelicans forward Dante Cunningham in a 111-95 Warrior win.

The 2.13 metre veteran received three stitches under his eye to close a cut after the collision with Cunningham while going for a rebound on a missed shot by Warriors guard Stephen Curry in the third quarter.
