The NBA Trade Deadline is just one day away, and plenty of rumors are flying about players who may or may not be moved. Some teams are looking to add pieces to help them make a playoff push during the second half of the season, while others are looking to sell for draft picks or other future assets Check out the latest NBA trade news & rumors below.
Pacers pursuing Jahlil Okafor
The Indiana Pacers are looking to bolster their roster as they try to make a run in the playoffs, and one name they are actively pursuing is Philadelphia 76ers big man Jahlil Okafor, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
Indiana seems to be one of the more active teams right now as they try to get Paul George some help. One name Jeff Goodman, Chris Haynes and I have all heard they're pursuing: Jahlil Okafor.
The Chicago Bulls and Portland Trail Blazers are also interested in Okafor, who is averaging 11.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 23 minutes per game this season.
Indiana is currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 29-28 record.
Knicks aggressively shopping Derrick Rose
The New York Knicks are looking to sell at the deadline, and while it appears they will not trade Carmelo Anthony, they are actively trying to get rid of Derrick Rose, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
Teams have told me in the last 24 hours that (the Knicks) have been really aggressive trying to move Derrick Rose for almost anything, to see if they can get any value back for him.
Rose, who is averaging 17.7 points and 4.5 assists per game, has been linked to the Minnesota Timberwolves in recent days.
Jazz interested in acquiring Deron Williams
The Utah Jazz are trying to acquire a backup point guard before the deadline, and one of their main targets is Dallas Mavericks point guard Deron Williams, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon and Marc Stein.
The Utah Jazz have expressed interest in reacquiring former All-Star guard Deron Williams via trade from the Dallas Mavericks, according to league sources. No deal appeared imminent Tuesday night, sources told ESPN.com, but Utah has registered its interest in bringing Williams back to his original team, with Dallas open to making both Williams and center Andrew Bogut available to other teams in advance of Thursday’s 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.
Williams had the best seasons of his career with the Jazz, where he played from 2005-2011 before being traded to the Nets. He is averaging 13.1 points and 6.9 assists per game this season.
