The NBA trade deadline isn't until Feb. 18, but several teams are already trying to make some moves to help them in the playoff chase. As we head towards the last few weeks of trade season, here are the latest rumors you need to know:
Knicks, other teams pursuing Hawks PG Jeff Teague
The New York Knicks have had premilinary talks with the Atlanta Hawks about a potential trade centered around point guard Jeff Teague, and the talks have been ongoing for several days, according to ESPN's Ian Begley. However, he also notes that the Knicks are just one of several teams Atlanta has talked with about Teague.
New York has been looking for point guard help all season and have been linked to Pistons PG Brandon Jennings and Timberwolves PG Ricky Rubio in the past few months. Don't be surprised to see their names pop up again in trade rumors over the next couple of weeks.
As for the Hawks, this is likely an attempt for them to keep backup PG Dennis Schroder long-term. The 22-year-old German told Atlanta in the preseason that he wanted to be the starter or would sign elsewhere in free agency this offseason.
Pelicans looking to trade Tyreke Evans?
It's been a tough year for the New Orleans Pelicans as they sit just 12th in the Western Conference with a 16-28 record after making the playoffs last season, but they appear ready to part ways with Tyreke Evans, their third-leading scorer, reports Michael Scotto of SheridanHoops:
Sources: Pelicans are listening to trade offers for Tyreke Evans and gauging his value. He is on the books for $10.2 million next season.

New Orleans has dealt with injuries to almost all of their important players this year, and some have suggest that the Pelicans simply chalk this up as a lost year to try and get as high of a draft pick as possible. Getting rid of Evans could be the first step towards that process, but the move would also free up cap space for the Pelicans to sign a top-tier free agent next offseason.
