The NBA trade deadline is rapidly approaching, and the trade rumors around the league continue to swirl. The Houston Rockets have been struggling with injuries and defense on the perimeter, so the latest rumor there is that the Rockets are looking to add a wing at the NBA trade deadline to pair next to Russell Westbrook and James Harden. Eric Gordon has been a normal starter for them, and he is playing well, but he is undersized and the team has no one that can guard the elite wings in the league like LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Could a guy like Robert Covington or Jae Crowder make some sense for the Houston Rockets?

Danillo Gallinari has been playing really well for the Oklahoma City Thunder this year who look to be a true NBA Playoff team. However, two teams IN THE VIDEO ABOVE AND BELOW are reportedly very interested in trading for the sharp-shooting forward. The Dallas Mavericks have shown interest in putting him next to Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, but today we will focus on the Philadelphia 76ers and how they might look to acquire Gallinari from the Thunder. Josh Richardson and Tobias Harris are great shooters for the 76ers, but Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid desperately need more shooters if they want to make a real playoff run.
The Los Angeles Lakers are always at the center of NBA trade rumors and the latest one involves former MVP, Derrick Rose. The Lakers have reportedly shown interest in acquiring Derrick Rose, but the Detroit Pistons, who are likely missing the NBA Playoffs, made a trade offer revolving around Alex Caruso and a draft pick, and the Lakers turned it down. The Lakers value Alex Caruso’s defensive ability and believe that will help them more in the long run than what Derrick Rose brings to the court.
Another Lakers rumor has surfaced and that is that JR Smith will reportedly tryout for the Lakers in the near future. JR Smith has not played this year and is a free agent, but he could be looking to team up with his former teammate in LeBron James with the Los Angeles Lakers. JR Smith would provide a valuable scoring punch off the bench, but would he bring anymore than a player like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is already bringing? He is also another player that could provide valuable playoff and NBA Finals experience if the Lakers choose not to make a trade before or at the NBA trade deadline.
NBA Rumors discussed on today's show:
