The NBA and commissioner Adam Silver are earnestly preparing themselves for the task of removing Donald Sterling as owner of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Per Jeff Caplan of NBA.com, with the Clippers eliminated from the 2014 NBA playoffs, the NBA is now expediting the process required to oust Sterling from his position:
NBA "initiates charge" to remove Sterling as owner. 3/4 vote by Board of Governors will terminate ownership of LAC & team will be sold.

According to Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today Sports, a hearing involving the 29 other NBA owners will be held just a couple weeks from today:
Hearing for Sterling's termination is set for June 3, according to the NBA. Sterling has until May 27 to respond to the charge. — Jeff Zillgitt (@JeffZillgitt) May 19, 2014
While the league will undoubtedly use the content of the original audio recordings of Sterling's racist rant as their main evidence against the exiled owner, they may also use his interview on CNN with Anderson Cooper as secondary evidence:
