The Boston Celtics were rocked on Friday when told of a broken hand suffered by star guard Rajon Rondo.
Rondo had successful surgery on his injured left hand, which was apparently injured in one of the most common household accidents there is:
Rajon Rondo told Celtics he broke his hand slipping in the shower, source told ESPN. Broke one bone in back of his hand. Out 6-8 weeks.

The worst case scenario for the Boston Celtics would have them without Rondo for a month of the regular season. In his place, first-round draft pick Marcus Smart is likely to see time at point guard in training camp. It is unclear if he will slide into a starting role at the position come Boston's season opener on October 29th against the Brooklyn Nets.
