Naysayers told Jamir Tillman he should not play football at the Naval Academy because he would be a wide receiver in a triple-option attack. You'll spend the whole game blocking and never have the ball thrown your way, the detractors said.
"Of course, coming here, everybody was like: 'That's a running team and you're a receiver. How do you feel about that?' It is what it is," Tillman said. "I'm going to practice my catching, practice my blocking. All you can do is control what you can control."
Four years later, Tillman has proven those stereotypes wrong as he continues to climb the Navy record book in a multitude of receiving categories.
