Head coach Geoff Collins insists it was mere coincidence that Temple played Army and Navy in consecutive games with a bye week in-between. If that is true it certainly constitutes fortuitous scheduling for the Owls.
Navy is the only triple-option team in the American Athletic Conference so it works out well in terms of preparation that Temple was able to face a very similar offense in its previous game. Better yet, the Owls had a week off between the Black Knights and Midshipmen to further figure out how to defend the tricky attack.
“I guess it’s good getting them back-to-back in terms of prep,” Collins said.
