Five years ago, DeBrandon Sanders wasn't sure if he'd realize his dream of playing major college football. Sanders was a 5-foot-7 running back who answered to "Bug,'' the nickname given to him by his grandmother. Recruiters were not hustling to Itta Bena, Mississippi to offer "Bug'' a scholarship.
But there was a Division I team that Sanders hadn't considered, one that had a history of success utilizing smallish running backs.
