Head coach Paul Kostacopoulos said Leland Saile has been the catalyst of Navy's offense for most of the season.
On Monday evening at Max Bishop Stadium, Saile came through with the most clutch at-bat of his college baseball career.
Saile delivered a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the eighth inning to drive in the winning run as Navy beat Holy Cross, 1-0, in the rubber game of the Patriot League championship series. Saile's drive to deep center field allowed Stephen Born to tag up at third base and trot home with the only run the Midshipmen would need in the finale of the best-of-three series.
