It’s Sunday afternoon, Drake’s “God’s Plan” is playing in Alumni Hall and Jennifer Coleman is dancing.
She wiggles during shooting drills and grins when her shot falls. When she passes teammates gripped with game-face, she tries to draw a smile out of them, and succeeds.
“Everybody on the team, I’m kind of, they would say, a goofy person,” Coleman said. “I’m always dancing and singing and smiling. I’m always lightening the mood.”
When the game starts, Coleman shifts from jokester to playmaker. Her teammates slip her the ball on the transition because she’s ruthless on a fast break, a point guard unafraid of the fray regardless of size.
