If published reports based off leaked information are accurate, the Naval Academy Athletic Association could be due for a financial windfall.
Sports Business Journal reported on Tuesday that ESPN and the American Athletic Conference have agreed on a new media rights contract worth $1 billion over 12 years.
Such a deal would mean that $83.3 million per year would be distributed among the American Athletic Conference member schools. Those schools that are AAC members for all sports would receive an estimated $6.94 million annually.
Sports Business Journal, which cited unnamed sources in its story, said the new contract would be worth four times what the previous rights agreement paid out.
