Prolific opener by fullbacks bodes well for Mids

Quarterback Keenan Reynolds gets hit quite often while operating Navy's triple-option offense. That was particularly the case in the season opener as Colgate made attacking Reynolds the focal point of its defensive plan.

If defenders are going to key on the quarterback, Reynolds has no problem handing the ball off to Navy's platoon of oversized fullbacks.

"We have three guys 250-plus who can run. They all move like slotbacks. So let's give them the ball and let them make hay," Reynolds said after watching Navy's trio of fullbacks run roughshod over the Raiders.

Starter Chris Swain along with backups Quentin Ezell and Shawn White made enough hay to fill an entire barn on Saturday, ganging up to rush for 192 yards and four touchdowns in Navy's 48-10 rout of Colgate.
