Plumer fits perfectly into the mold of what Navy lacrosse looks for in No. 40

For the eighth straight year, Navy men’s lacrosse players were asked to select one of their own to continue what has become a solemn tradition.

There have been several years in which the choice has been rather obvious and the internal voting produced a runaway winner.

That was not the case this year as several players were quite worthy of wearing the No. 40 jersey in honor of former Navy lacrosse player Brendan Looney, who was killed in action on Sept. 21, 2010.

To come out on top from among a field of so many strong senior leaders made the honor even more special for D.
