Navy football took a break from scrimmaging on Saturday morning to move into positional periods for a while.
One of those periods brought the quarterbacks, wide receivers, slotbacks and defensive backs together. It was about 15 minutes of nonstop passing with the quarterbacks making throws to slotbacks and receivers running various routes with the cornerbacks and safeties in coverage.
This is exactly the type of thing head coach Ken Niumatalolo and offensive coordinator Ivin Jasper want starting quarterback Malcolm Perry to do a lot of this spring. Perry needs to improve his passing and this rapid-fire drill is ideal for developing all the necessary skills.
