Navy will meet a familiar foe in the Military Bowl, presented by Northrop Grumman.
It was announced on Sunday afternoon that Pittsburgh would fill the Atlantic Coast Conference slot in the Military Bowl, being held on Monday, Dec. 28 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
This will be the 40th meeting between Navy and Pittsburgh, which enjoyed quite a spirited rivalry during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The Midshipmen and Panthers met every year from 1961 through 1979 then again from 1983 to 1989.
Following an 18-year hiatus, the schools entered into a four-game, home-and-home contract that began in 2007 and concluded in 2013.
