No one would ever have imagined that Zach Abey and Jarid Ryan would be the Navy players brought to the post-game press conference following a bowl game.
It spoke to the massive amount of injuries the Midshipmen have suffered this season that those two sophomores spoke on behalf of the team following the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl on Saturday.
Neither Abey nor Ryan played in a varsity game last season, and both opened August camp low on the depth chart. However, the fact those two Anne Arundel County products played well enough against Louisiana Tech to warrant facing the media bodes well for the future of Navy football.
