Tim O'Donohue had to play catch-up after being named Navy's head men's soccer coach. O'Donohue's hiring as the sixth head coach in the 95-year history of the program was announced July 1. It came five weeks after previous coach Dave Brandt decided to leave Annapolis to coach the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League.
Fortunately for O'Donohue, who will make his debut with Navy on Friday when the Mids open the season at College of Charleston, he and Brandt were well acquainted from their days as Division III head coaches — O'Donohue at Stevens Institute of Technology and Brandt at Messiah.
