Buddy Green will be in the press box high atop Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Saturday when Navy hosts Tulane on Homecoming in Annapolis.
However, Green won't be in the coaching box alongside several other Navy assistants, won't be making all the defensive calls as he did the previous 13 seasons.
Green will be sitting in the main press box area along with the media, watching the game while taking notes. Navy's longtime defensive coordinator is on sabbatical this season while trying to recuperate from major neck surgery.
The 62-year-old college football coaching lifer said earlier this week doctors did not recommend another surgery.
