NAVY MEN’S TENNIS: Men’s tennis head coach Chris Garner has been selected as the 2018 Wilson / Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic Region Men’s Coach of the Year. The ITA made the announcement of its 12 region coach-of-the-year recipients on Wednesday.
Garner led the Mids to an overall record of 28-11 during the 2018 spring season. Navy earned the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Tournament with a 7-1 record against league foes during the regular season, then made its top seed hold up as the Mids won the league tournament title. It was the second championship won by the Mids during Garner’s four years, and the league tournament title advanced Navy to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015.
