Kolat has gotten Navy into the national rankings for the first time since 2017. The Midshipmen (5-1) have steadily climbed up the National Wrestling Coaches Association poll and are currently No. 17 after winning their last five duals.
It will take a tremendous team-wide performance at the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships on Friday for that to happen. However, Navy is well positioned to give it a go with eight of 10 wrestlers seeded among the top four of their weight class.
Senior Cody Trybus, the top seed at 141 pounds, leads the way as he seeks to repeat as EIWA champion.
