Skidgel is the two-time defending champion at 165 pounds after beating Bucknell’s Zach Hartman in the last year’s finals. Ddespite that proven track record, Skidgel is seeded second behind Hartman going into the 2021 EIWA Championships, being held Friday at Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim, Pennsylvania.
“It definitely motivates me, although I don’t think anyone out there is purposefully trying to disrespect me,” Skidgel said. “That seed by my name is not going to change my approach. I know and everyone else knows that is my weight class, and come this Friday I’m going to do what needs to be done out on the mat.
