The day after a four-point a loss to Penn, Navy received 20 points from freshman Jennifer Coleman that led to a 72-49 blowout of the North Carolina A&T on Sunday at Alumni Hall on the final day of the Navy Classic.
The win broke a three-game losing streak and gave Navy (2-3) a lift as the Mids won’t play at home again until Dec. 31. During that four-game stretch of away games, the Mids will play at the Air Force Academy on Dec. 7 and at Colorado on Dec. 9.
“We will have so much more confidence coming out of this weekend, no doubt about that,” said Navy head coach Stefanie Pemper, who said the team played well against Penn despite losing and played even better against A&T, which went to the NCAA tournament last year and is favored to win its conference this season.
