The Navy’s women’s basketball team extended its season-opening winning streak to six games and head coach Stefanie Pemper moved into a tie for most career victories with the program, as the Mids won their ninth Navy Classic championship by routing St. Bonaventure 86-48 at Alumni Hall on Sunday.
Tournament MVP Morgan Taylor scored a career-high 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the floor as the Mids won by the largest margin of victory in Pemper’s 10 years at the helm.
The 6-0 start is the best for the program since an 8-0 start to the 1996-97 season.
