In a game between two teams that entered the day with perfect records, New Mexico (11-0) edged the Navy women’s basketball team (9-1), 94-87, in overtime, Sunday in Albuquerque, N.M.
“It just had that feeling of who was going to fall first and who was going to get back up,” said Navy head coach Stefanie Pemper.
In the loss, Navy’s Taylor Dunham scored a career-high 34 points, including nine 3-pointers. Her 3-point total tied a school record.
Neither team could gain much of an advantage throughout the game. Navy’s largest advantage was eight points, in the first quarter.
