The highest scoring Navy women's basketball team in over two decades relied on its defense to come away with a 55-41 victory over Boston University Thursday night at Alumni Hall in Annapolis.
The Mids (16-5, 9-1 Patriot League) entered the game averaging 70 points a game for the first time since the 1993-94 season, but held the Terriers (7-14, 5-5) without a made field goal in the fourth quarter, to five made field goals in the last three quarters and 12 made shots from the field overall to earn the victory.
Navy's 55 points tied the team's season low, set at Tennessee, and was just the second time this season the Mids failed to reach 60 points in a game.
