NAVY KEY: RUN READ TRIPLE-OPTION
Navy made great progress with the read triple-option portion of its offense during last Saturday’s loss to Central Florida. The Midshipmen need to deliver a heavy dose of the option in this game and cut back on the inside and outside zone plays. Tulsa has not defended the option well in three previous meetings with Navy as members of the American Athletic Conference. Quarterback Zach Abey led the way as the Midshipmen rolled up 421 rushing yards in last year’s victory over the Golden Hurricane. Quarterback Will Worth was the catalyst as Navy netted 390 rushing yards in 2016.
