Navy thwarted in women's soccer final

Consistency is usually a positive attribute in sports. But in one key way, the Navy women’s soccer team consistently comes up short.

For the seventh straight season, the Mids reached the Patriot League championship game and lost, missing out on an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. That berth went to Bucknell, a reward for its 3-2 victory Sunday at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Goals by Clare MacAdam and Ash Fairow, the Patriot League’s leading scorer, were not enough to allow Navy to catch up to the Bison after Kendall Ham posted a hat trick in the first 21:05 of the game.
