Major Jason Dewald knew there was no way Navy sprint football would play its complete schedule this season. That notion was dispelled when the Ivy League announced its member schools would not participate in fall sports.
However, Dewald, entering his third season as Navy sprint football coach, was hopeful he could still piece together some sort of schedule.
On Friday, the Collegiate Sprint Football League announced Friday it was canceling the upcoming season due to safety concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. A press release stated the decision was made by vote of the 10 CSFL institutions following lengthy conversations with key stakeholders.
