The Midshipmen were winning the draws and giving themselves scoring opportunities. However, Navy was off target when it came to shooting the ball.
“I thought we did a lot of good things tonight. Unfortunately, we didn’t score on our first six shots,” Navy coach Cindy Timchal said.
Meanwhile, the Dragons did finish early and jumped out to an early 6-0 lead. That deficit proved too much for the Midshipmen to overcome as they played from behind the whole way.
Midfielder Lucy Schneidereith scored five goals as No. 14 Drexel defeated Navy, 17-8, at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
