Keenan Reynolds dominated the Navy athletics news for most of 2015 and did so again in 2016.

In February, Reynolds became the first Navy player to have his jersey number (19) retired while still an undergraduate. Two months later, Reynolds joined a select list of Naval Academy players selected in the NFL Draft.

The Balltimore Ravens made Reynolds a sixth round draft pick on April 30, sparking a debate about whether he should be allowed to pursue professional football. On May 27, Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced during his commencement address at Naval Academy graduation Reynolds would be allowed to play in the National Football League.
