Navy rebuilds its offensive line, catalyst for the triple-option

From the outside, the storyline for Navy football this preseason has been whether Tago Smith can adequately replace record-setting quarterback Keenan Reynolds. National media have besieged coach Ken Niumatalolo with questions about losing Reynolds, who was a sixth-round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens.

The Midshipmen graduated another major offensive weapon in fullback Chris Swain, who is attempting to make the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent. Shawn White entered August drills as the heir apparent, but missed two weeks with a foot injury and has been surpassed on the depth chart by both Chris High and Myles Swain.
