Opponents talk all the time about the difficulty of preparing for Navy’s patented triple-option offense in the span of a week. Memphis had the entire offseason to get ready for the unique attack.
Defensive coordinator Chris Ball said the Tigers spent time during spring practice and again throughout August training camp dialing down on the option.
“We work on (Navy) all the time. They’re that high-priority. We’ve got to beat this team in order to be successful in our division. So they’re always on our mind. We’re always trying to figure out ways to slow them down,” Ball told the The Commercial Appeal this week.
