TULSA, Okla. – Ken Niumatalolo must have felt like he was living a nightmare. Navy’s offense made just about every mistake imaginable during the first quarter and a half of Saturday’s game.
By the time both slotbacks went in motion at the same time to spoil a fifth consecutive possession, Navy’s 10th-year head coach was wondering what else could go wrong. Offensive tackle Jake Hawk was flagged for a chop block to short-circuit one possession while slotback Malcolm Perry committed a fumble to end another.
Even when Navy did drive the field it came up empty.
