Navy offense has room for improvement, coaching staff states

Navy scored 42 points and amassed 526 total yards during its season-opening victory over Florida Atlantic. Quarterback Zach Abey rushed for 235 yards and completed three passes for 110 yards to lead the onslaught.

One would think the coaching staff would be pleased with the Midshipmen’s performance coming out of the gate. Such an assumption would be wrong as head coach Ken Niumatalolo, offensive coordinator Ivin Jasper and running game coordinator Ashley Ingram agreed the offense can do better.

Abey set an American Athletic Conference record for rushing yards by a quarterback and became just the second Navy player to surpass 200 yards rushing and 100 yards passing in a single game.
