Navy’s men’s basketball team announced Monday it has paused all activities for 10 days and canceled games against Morgan State and Delaware because of coronavirus-related concerns.
The Midshipmen were scheduled to play nonconference games against Morgan State on Dec. 16 and Delaware on Dec. 21.
“Safeguarding the health and safety of our midshipmen, faculty, staff and coaches, and our extended Naval Academy family and the local community remains the top priority during this pandemic,” Navy athletics wrote in a news release. “We will continue to implement mitigating measures to minimize the spread of COVID-19.”
Navy coach Ed DeChellis said his team was presently not practicing because players are amid final exams and its next game is not until next Thursday.
