Friday was a whirlwind for everyone involved with the Navy men’s basketball program.
Fifth-seeded Navy knocked off No. 4 American in northwest D.C. on Thursday night and the team bus did not arrive back in Annapolis until late. Head coach Ed DeChellis and his assistants got up first thing Friday morning and began watching tape of top-seeded Colgate, which beat Boston University in another Patriot League Tournament quarterfinal.
Meanwhile, support staff was hurriedly making travel arrangements for a trip to Hamilton, New York. Players were informed of the itinerary on Friday morning then gathered at Halsey Field House for a short walk-through practice that afternoon.
