DALLAS – Navy's coaching staff has done a remarkable job over the years of moving players to different positions in order to strengthen the team and get the best talent on the field.
Justin Norton is the latest example of a player who has benefitted from a position switch and become a contributor as a result.
Norton moved from free safety to outside linebacker during preseason practice. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound junior had dropped down the depth chart in the secondary and defensive coordinator Dale Pehrson thought he might be able to make more of an impact by playing closer to the line of scrimmage.
