Chris Fennell and Matt Rees figured they had played their last game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium when Navy got upset by Holy Cross in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament.
Fennell and Rees probably had not contemplated being drafted by the Chesapeake Bayhawks, the professional lacrosse franchise that plays its home games at the same facility.
Chesapeake selected both Naval Academy graduates in the MLL Collegiate Draft, held Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Rees, a two-time, third team All-American, was taken in the second round with the 12th overall selection.
