This past offseason, Niumatalolo spent considerable time researching the latest innovations in sports science and sports nutrition.
One of the successful innovators in those two areas is Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly.
Niumatalolo got to know Kelly when the latter came to the Naval Academy in April 2014 ago following the death of Will McKamey.
Kelly spent several hours in the Navy football building before watching practice and announcing afterward he was making McKamey an honorary member of the Eagles.
