Navy's football recruiting efforts are attracting the notice of the competition.
In February, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh lured Director of Player Personnel Sean Magee away from Navy. Preston Pehrson was promoted to replace Magee in that role, and now he's been hired away by Houston.
Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo confirmed on Friday that Pehrson had abruptly left the program after being pursued by Houston head coach Major Applewhite. The Cougars are an American Athletic Conference West Division rival of the Midshpmen.
