RALEIGH, N.C. -- The fifth inning was rough for Navy in more ways than one.
N.C. State homered four times in the fifth, twice on each side of a lengthy delay, and hit five total as the Wolfpack stopped Navy, 13-8, at Doak Field at Dail Park in the NCAA Tournament opener for both schools.
The game didn't end until well past 1:30 a.m.
The contest was delayed for more than three hours and the crowd was temporarily evacuated after a severe weather warning halted action with two out in the bottom of the fifth following Knizner's homer.
