Head coach Ken Niumatalolo said Navy needs to be careful not to overwork standout slotback Malcolm Perry.
Fans see Perry as Navy’s most dangerous weapon and think he should get the football more often.
It is quite clear the Midshipmen have a real game-breaker in Perry, who is averaging 15 yards per touch. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound sophomore is the team’s third-leading rusher with 346 yards on only 27 carries and the second-leading receiver with 98 yards on just five catches.
Perry has accounted for four touchdowns, three rushing and one receiving. He’s also become Navy’s primary kickoff returner and has amassed 114 yards on five attempts.
