When senior defender Marie Valenti steps into an exclusive class of lacrosse players previously held to five, it’ll happen in a flash.
You’ll hear the crack of sticks hitting sticks, the thud of shoulder colliding with shoulder. Then, more than likely, you’ll see Valenti running off with the ball in tow.
Valenti needs just one stick check, interception or block in the Mids’ game with Bucknell on Saturday to become the sixth Patriot League player in history to eclipse 100 career caused turnovers. She’d join — and likely soon surpass — Katelyn Miller, Bucknell (101); Julianne D’Orazio, Lehigh (103); Lauren Deitrich, Bucknell (116); Colleen Bubnack, Colgate (124) and Ana White, Lafayette (125).
