Wednesday night’s game against Lehigh was important for Navy on a number of levels.
First, Navy was looking to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointing defeat at the hands of archrival Army. There can sometimes be a hangover effect following the showdown and the Midshipmen did not want to let the Black Knights beat them twice.
Second, Navy was playing in Annapolis for the only time in two weeks and needed to protect the home court. The Midshipmen are in the midst of playing four of five Patriot League games on the road.
The Mids went toe-to-toe with the Mountain Hawks for 30 minutes, but faded badly down the stretch against the preseason favorite to capture the Patriot League.
