The Naval Academy football banquet was held Friday evening at Alumni Hall. The senior class finished with a 30-23 record (.566), won the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy in 2015, captured a share of the American Athletic Conference West Division title in 2015, won the AAC West outright and played in the AAC Championship Game in 2016 and went 2-1 in bowl games with wins over Pitt and Virginia. The class also won two games over ranked teams beating Memphis in 2015 and Houston in 2016.
Junior quarterback/slot back Malcolm Perry (Clarksville, Tenn.) was named the winner of the E.E. “Rip” Miller Award, which is presented to the season's most valuable player as voted on by his teammates.
